Getting Your Feet Wet @ The Brook

Our desire for every person who attends Calvary, the Brook, is to become equipped. This means to get plugged in, get connected to the ministry here, and build real relationships with other like-minded believers. Our Christian faith is not just about believing, it's also about belonging. We want you to belong to the family. Although we have no formal membership, below are the steps for getting involved.

"…I have come that you might have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”  John 10:10 NKJV

In order to experience the “Life Now” that Jesus promised, we each must take the steps necessary:

  • To Be Equipped through Discipleship
We believe that it's essential to continue to grow in our knowledge and understanding of God and His Word, the Bible, no matter how long we have been a believer (Eph. 4:15; Col. 1:10). We have designed a process where you will be able to grow and be equipped to use your gifts in the church (Eph. 4:11-12)
  • To Be Connected through Fellowship
We believe that relationships are essential to our growth and sense of belonging (Heb 10:24-25). We want you to get connected to others, and we have designed a number of opportunities for you to do that. But it is up to you to take advantage of them.
  • To Be Involved through Service
We believe that ministry and service are the calling of every believer. And the Bible is clear that God has given all of us spiritual gifts and a place to use them in the local church. It's God's will and our responsibility for us to exercise our gifts. Not to use them is to rob ourselves and others from the important part we play in the church (Eph. 4:16; Rom. 12:6; 1Cor. 12:4-7)!

This is the process designed to get your feet wet at the Brook

Step #1 - Acclimate

Regularly Attend the weekly church services

There really is no substitute for the Sunday corporate worship experience. This is the life blood of the Christian, because all the elements necessary to get connected come together. The more regularly we attend, the better we will be connected to the body of Christ. It is required that you attend regularly as a first step to getting involved in serving. This gives you time to get settled and to know what our church is all about.

Step #2 - Associate

Join a Growth Ministry

Building relationships is essential to getting connected and small group meetings are a great way to do that. We have a number of small groups available. There are no requirements for joining; you can start at any time
