Welcome to the Brook!
Written by Rick Doucette

Welcome! I'm so glad you found us online here at the Brook. There may be many different reasons why you came here today, but my prayer is that you look around and see what we have to offer. If you are not already attending the Brook, I'd like to invite you to our Sunday servies or one of our other services. Our goal is to minister to you in mind, soul and spirit. That you discover a loving family of believers gathering right here in Grand Terrace. Our desire is to help you grow in your faith and in the grace & knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. We believe this is accomplished through studying God's Word and it's why we put an emphasis on Bible study. Romans 10:17 says faith comes from hearing the Word of God! As you continue to join us you will learn what the Bible says, how it is relevant to your life today and how God can change people's lives. He can meet the deepest longings and quench that thirst we all have for something more! This is why we are called the Brook, because we want to connect people to the only source of true refreshment and satisfaction in life, in a relationship with God Himself!

We believe God created every person with a purpose, but our ultimate purpose being to know God, and to enjoy Him. This is the very reason Jesus came to die, to remove our sins, and to reconcile us to God. Jesus said in John 17:3 This is Eternal life that they know You, the only true God and Jesus Christ who you have sent. Peter writes in 1 Peter 3:17 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God. We exist to help people come to know God though faith alone in Jesus Christ. But we also believe it should not be a faith that is alone. In other words we believe that if we have faith in Christ, It will prompt us to be actively involved in our church, in our community and in our world. The greatest desire of all people is to make a difference in our world and we exist as a church to equip you to do that, for Gods glory.

We also recognize that people have many different reasons for not attending church, everything from “it seems irrelevant” to the fact that it can sometimes be, well, “Boring!” Or you may have met someone who claims to be a believer but wasn't a very good example of one. We might call them hypocrites. But in truth, we are all hypocrites at one time or another and we are all in need of something more. The church is not a museum for saints it's a hospital for sinners! At the Brook, you will find a family of believers who are not perfect, but real. Believers who simply want to know God, to love Him more, and to tangibly love others. So, we invite you to continue with us and discover the unique plan God has for your life, to come regularly and drink of the waters of Gods Word and His Spirit, to make church attendance a indispensable part of your life, and lets see what God will do in you and though you!

Sincerely,
Pastor Rick Doucette
